Mehdi Maasoumy received his BSc from Sharif University of Technology inMechanical Engineering, and his MSc and PhD from University of California at Berkeley in 2008, 2010 and 2013, respectively. His research interests include Model Predictive Control of Cyber-Physical Systems, Machine Learning and Optimization, with applications in energy systems such as energy-efficient smart building control systems, smart grid and aircraft electric power distribution systems. Mehdi’s PhD work has won several awards. He is the recipient of the Best Student Paper Award at the International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems (ICCPS 2013), Best Student Paper Award finalist at the ASME Dynamic Systems and Control Conference (DSCC 2013), and Best Student Paper Award finalist at the IEEE American Control Conference (ACC 2014). He is currently a Senior Data Scientist at C3 Energy.
